SAMS VALLEY, Ore. – Two people died after the motorcycle they were riding hit an elk.
Oregon State Police said at about 10:44 p.m. on July 21, a Honda motorcycle operated by 42-year-old Mark Nienhouse of Medford was traveling on Highway 234 when it hit an elk on the roadway between Meadows Road and Antioch Road. Nienhouse and his passenger, 30-year-old Jennifer Ayala of Central Point, were killed in the crash.
OSP provided no further information about the crash.
