More Mexicans seen leaving the US than arriving

320x180_50608B00-TAYTXThe flow of immigration from Mexico to the United States appears to be reversing.

A Pew Research Center report finds more Mexicans are now departing south, rather than immigrants coming in.

The study found about one million Mexicans and their families left the US for Mexico from 2009 to 2014.

For the same period, about 870,000 Mexicans entered the US Researchers say tougher immigration laws, a sharp *increase* in deportations, and family ties are the likely cause.

Even with more deportations, the Pew study found most Mexicans who returned home did so on their own.
