Washington will file restraining order against Pres. Trump’s travel order

Olympia, Wash. – The State of Washington will file a restraining order against President Trump’s re-worked executive order barring entry for some foreign nationals.

President Trump’s revised order issued Monday removed Iraq from a list of countries where foreign nationals would be barred from entering the U.S. for 90 days.

On Thursday, Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said his state will ask that a temporary injunction issued by a judge on President Trump’s previous travel order be applied to the new order.

If upheld, the injunction would block federal employees from enforcing the travel ban.

Ferguson said Oregon and New York will be lending their voices to the effort. He said, “It’s my duty, my responsibility to act. We’re not going to be bullied by threats and actions by the federal government.”
