If anyone has any information on the case, they are urged to contact Medford police

Medford, Ore. — Medford police are searching for a male suspect who they say fatally shot a man in West Medford.

A gunshot was called in to police just before 5 tonight on Iowa and Narregan streets. When officers arrived, they say they found the male victim dead in his back yard.

Witness Emmanuel Navarro says he ran outside when he heard the shot, “I was sitting in my room and I heard a loud pop, so I came outside. I got on the phone and said, ‘We might need an ambulance here, I think somebody got shot.'”

“There were some witnesses to the event, we’re currently talking to them. We’ve got several detectives on scene, the Oregon State Police crime lab is on their way,” said Medford Police Lieutenant Mike Budreau.

Police aren’t releasing any suspect information right now, but they say the shooting doesn’t appear to be gang related.

The victim’s name is not being released until next of kin have been notified.
