Woman accused of Yreka murder arrested in Arizona

Update (12/14/16 4:30 p.m.) – The Yreka Police Department said murder suspect Tabitha Taravella has been arrested without incident in Sedona Arizona. YPD is currently working on transporting Travella back to California.


Yreka, Calif. – On Saturday, December  10th, police officers found a man dead inside a tent in the 300 block of East Oberlin Road in Yreka.

Police identified the deceased man as 33-year-old John Paul Mullins.

According to the Yreka Police Department, 23-year-old Tabitha Ann Taravella is now being sought as a suspect in Mullins’ murder.

Taravella is described by police as being 5’3” tall with short brown hair and green eyes.

She has a large tattoo of a boom box on the right side of her neck. YPD identified Tarvella as a known transient in the Yreka area.

“We’re currently working with the department of justice, and doing phone pings as we speak, trying to find out a location on the suspect,” Chief Brian Bowles said. “It’s an active woman-hunt.”
