(CNN) – Actress and director Penny Marshall died at 75.
She passed away Monday night at her home from complications from diabetes.
Marshall was arguable best known as Laverne from the 1970s hit TV show ‘Laverne and Shirley’.
She also went on to direct some cult classics like ‘Big’ and ‘A League of Their Own’.
She came from a well-known Hollywood family including brother, director Garry Marshall.
The comedienne was also an avid sports fan.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
