Controlled burn scheduled near Mt. Ashland

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Smoke from a controlled burn near Mt. Ashland is expected to be visible from Interstate 5 on Monday.

According to the Lomakatsi Restoration Project, the fuel reduction burn will take place off Old Highway 99 near the Mt. Ashland access road. That’s in the area of Callahan’s Lodge and Restaurant.

Visible smoke is expected in the southeast end of the Rogue Valley and especially from the freeway.
