County Commissioners approve Asante bond

ASANTE BOND

Medford, Ore.– Asante Health System will replace old hospital beds in three local facilities along with other equipment improvements.

This morning Jackson County Commissioners approved a bond that will allow asante to acquire 416 new hospital beds.

It’s all part of a $20 million medical equipment upgrade that will cost tax payers nothing.

“An efficient collaboration I think,” says Commissioner Rick Dyer of the bond approval.  “It is absolutely for the public good and I am glad that we are able to extend this status .”

The beds will be spread out between Rogue Regional Medical Center and Ashland Community Center.

Josephine County Commissioners also approved the bond at their meeting this morning, sending a number of the new beds to Three Rivers Medical Center as well.

Operating room and imaging equipment will also be a part of the upgrade.
