Trail, Ore.- Firefighters near Trail are moving closer to their goal of extinguishing all hot spots inside the fire line around the Cleveland Ridge Fire. Friday, more than 260 firefighters will mop up smoldering stumps and other vegetation burned in the fire that began Monday.
According to the Oregon Department of Forestry, the fire has stabilized at 530 acres and is 60 percent contained.
Some crews, fire engines and aircraft will be released from the fire Friday, to help fight wildfires burning elsewhere in Oregon. The fire camp at TouVelle State Park will stay in place through the weekend and possibly into early next week.
