A choking hazard has prompted the recall of thousands of water bottles sold exclusively at Target stores.
The recall involves about 178,000 Zak design 26-ounce water bottles with popular characters and a variety of colors.
Reports claim the inner plastic straw in the flip-top portion of the twist-off cap can break.
The mold number is 14158 and “Zak designs” are embossed on the bottom of the bottles.
The designer has received nine incident reports, including seven reports of children spitting out plastic fragments while using the water bottles.. However, no injuries have been reported.
Target stores sold the water bottles during a “Back-to-College” promotion nationwide from June through July of this year for about $10.
