Jackson County, Ore. – Firefighters are mopping up after a fire started early Monday morning near Tolman Creek Road.
According to the Oregon Department of Forestry, residents reported seeing smoke near Toothpick Trailhead just before 6:00 a.m.
ODF said multiple agencies responded to the location and were able to wet-line the perimeter of the half-acre fire by 7:20 a.m.
Firefighters said smoke may still be visible from the Ashland area as the remains of the fire smolder.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
