The new camp is on Energy Transfer Partners’ land at the site of a new roadblock that was set up over the weekend.
Wednesday, protesters burned sage, prayed and sang at the camp. They say they will not be the ones instigating violence, but they aren’t going anywhere.
“We had gotten word that they had wanted to come in and sweep the camp that had been established on 1851 Treaty territory, and we’re not going to let them sweep that camp,” says Joye Braun, Indigenous Environmental Network.
