Central Point man arrested for murdering his wife enters not guilty plea

Central Point, Ore. — A man accused of murdering his wife and trying to kill three other people in his Central Point home was back in court for his arraignment.

Wade Eugene Phillips entered not guilty pleas today for three counts of attempted murder and one count of murder.

Phillips allegedly shot and killed his wife Cynthia Phillips last week, then pointed the gun in the direction of three others inside the home, one of them, a child.

A family friend told NBC5 news that Cynthia Phillips died protecting her daughter and her daughter’s unborn son.

Phillips pre-trial conference is scheduled for January 26th, he remains in the Jackson County jail on no bail.
