Familes win lawsuit over baby swap

Paris, France — A French court has awarded a little over $2,000,000 to two families whose babies were switched at birth more than 20 years ago.

The mother’s gave birth to their daughter in 1994, one of the babies suffered from jaundice and was put in an incubator to treat the problem along with another newborn girl.

A nurse accidentally switched the babies and even though both mothers doubted that the baby they were given was their baby, they were sent home.

The clinic was ordered to pay damages, but the suit against the doctors was thrown out.
