In-N-Out Burger seeks location in Medford

Medford, Ore. — Having an In-N-Out burger close by is every burger lovers dream. And the news that In-N-Out is looking to grill up patties in Medford is making mouths water all over the valley.

The City of Medford’s Planning Director, Jim Huber, said the popular chain has submitted a pre-application to the city to open a restaurant. He said it’s just one of a few steps in what could end up saving you a drive to Redding to eat at the burger joint.

“They’ve got the right zoning so the next step would be the formal application that would be for what we call site plan approval. If that gets approved they they would apply for a building permit and start building,” Huber said.

Huber said In-N-Out hopes to open their location at the Shell Gas station on Highway 62 by the Rogue Valley Mall entrance. The gas station would be removed for the burger chain.

In-N-Out will meet with Medford’s planning department next week to discuss their pre-application. If everything is approved Huber said it’s up to In-N-Out to set an opening date.

Medford burger lovers say the sooner the better.
