Jackson County Search & Rescue holds horse training, recertification trials

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue horse riders are brushing up on their skills.

The riders participated in re-certification training last weekend.

The office said each horse and rider must complete 16 criteria to get certified including crossing water.

JCSO said the team recently introduced pack animals to help bring equipment to backcountry operations.
