National group calls for public condemnation of Oath Keepers

Strong accusations against the Oath Keepers of Josephine County coming all the way from the east coast.

The Ballots not Bullets Coalition is pushing for Oregon lawmakers to publicly denounce the actions of the Oath Keepers security operation at the Sugar Pine Mine in Galice.

The Ballots not Bullets spokesperson from Washington, D.C. says the group is made up of seven organizations located around the country.

He is calling the Oath Keepers “violent insurrectionists” who issued death threats to Oregon’s BLM.

The BLM won’t reveal who made the threats because of their ongoing investigation.

The Oath Keepers Public Information Officer told us those threats did not come from their group and even asked the public to “not take part” in that kind of behavior, she added the Ballots not Bullets Coalition likely has limited information.

“In no way would I classify us as an insurrectionist group,” said Oath Keepers of Josephine Co. Public Information Officer Mary Emerick, “we believe in the law, we believe in the constitution.”

“There’s no reason for guys to be out there armed to the teeth, playing soldier,” said Ladd Everitt, the Director of Communications for the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

Ballots not Bullets is holding a teleconference next Tuesday to discuss their concerns.
