Representative Dennis Richardson in the race for Governor

Medford, Ore.– The race for Oregon Governor has narrowed down. Southern Oregonian, Representative Dennis Richardson had a dominant lead. As of 11:30 P.M. Tuesday, Richardson had 66% of the votes. Richardson ran against four other candidates for the right to challenge Governor John Kitzhaber this fall.

Richardson has been an attorney in Central Point for the last 23 years.

Before that he served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.

Active in politics, the conservative has represented Central Point for the last 11 years in Salem. He said he believes with his leadership he can get the state back on track.

“I believe that we’re going to be successful tonight. And after tonight there will be no question in anyone’s mind that its John Kitzhaber who wants a fourth term and Dennis Richardson who wants to retire John Kitzhaber and give Oregon a vision for the future that they haven’t had,” said Kitzhaber.

Richardson also said he wants to focus on education and find health care for Oregonians in a way that works. He will be back in the Rogue Valley on Friday.
