Roses for military mom’s

Talent, Ore. — Mother’s Day is this weekend,and while it celebrates everything our moms do for us, it can often be difficult for mothers with children in the armed forces.

June McKiernan knows the feeling, her son is in the military serving overseas.

On Saturday, she planing to give away nearly 200 roses to other moms and grandma’s with children serving overseas.

“The job of a mother is always to stand between their child and danger. And when our kids are overseas, we can’t do that. And besides our prayers, we just do what we can. And, this for me is what I can do,” McKiernan said.

McKiernan will be at the Talent-Friends Church at 50 Talent Avenue Saturday from 10 am-3 pm.

The roses will be free to military mothers.

She asking anyone who comes to bring a picture to share stories of their loves ones.
