Snow Emergency Prep

As Southern Oregon braces for a winter storm, you might want to take stock of how well you’re prepared. Stormy conditions can knock out power, and make travel dangerous. Red Cross officials suggest preparing a 72 hour emergency kit.

Michelle Thompson of the American Red Cross says “We suggest to make a plan with your family – consider what would happen if you had a power outage, whether you’ll have enough food, water in the house.”

If you must travel, make sure that your car is prepared for the trip and consider packing extra food, water, and clothing in case you should happen to get stranded.
