TSA Plans To Expand Faster Screenings But At A Price

If you are heading to the airport anytime soon, the Transportation Security Administrationsay they are going to expand a speedier screeningprocessfor a fee of $85.

The fee would cover 5 years of priority screening, meaning passengers who pass a screened background check will be able to pass through the security check point with out having to take off their shoes, jackets, belts, or even take their laptop out of their bag.

Currently the program is free and only available to eligible travelers.

Officials say opening the program to the public will make it more of an effective way to manage and screen riskier travelers.

Enrollment centers arescheduled to open in the fall and the program is scheduled to expand nationwide.
