Vigil Held In Memory Of Huey Huson

It’s a case that has stumped investigators for a year. It was one year ago Sunday that taxi cab driver Huey William Huson was murdered.

It was his 58th birthday and a day his family and friends are trying to still cope with.

Nearly 50 family, friends and members of the community gathered Sunday to remember the life of Valley Cab Drive Huey Huson.

It was here at this location on Helo Road off of Vilas that Huson’s body was found, now it’s a place for those who loved him to gather and remember his life.

Last year on this day, he was shot to death after picking up a passenger at Howie’s on Front, his body dumped and cab stolen, it was later recovered near 9th and Almond.

It’s a case that has stumped police from the beginning and still one year later not one suspect has been named.

“We’ve had some leads that have come in and we follow up,” said Medford Police.

It’s frustrates those at the memorial that justice has yet to be severed..

But as they look back on the life that was, they are hoping this ceremony will help start to heal a wound.

Huson would have turned 59 years old Sunday.

Huson’s wife has vowed to dedicate her life to making sure cameras are required in all taxi cabs so a simular situation does not happen.
