New fence surrounds White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A new fence now surrounds the White House.

The black non-scalable fence stands outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue securing the perimeter of the White House complex and Lafayette Square, preventing protests and demonstrators from getting close to the White House.

A total of 250 National Guardsmen are on hand and working with D.C. Metro Police.

The same fencing was used in the summer during protests over the death of George Floyd.
