‘Operation Dry Water’ targets impaired boaters

MEDFORD, Ore. – Jackson County Marine Patrol deputies made several arrests over the weekend for “Operation Dry Water,” a nation-wide effort to crack down on boating while impaired.

Today, the sheriff’s office released the numbers for June 29 through July.

Eight people were arrested for boating under the influence of intoxicants—some for alcohol, some for marijuana and others for both.

The highest blood alcohol content level was more than three times the legal limit.
