Social Security cost-of-living adjustment may be offset by Medicare costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC) – Seniors drawing Social Security should see bigger checks in 2020. But there is some bad news.

While checks are forecast to grow next year, it won’t be as much as this year.

According to an estimate from the Senior Citizens League, seniors should see a 1.6% boost in 2020, down from a 2.8% increase in 2019.

And Medicare Part B premiums are also likely to rise, meaning it’ll likely be a wash in the end.
