TreeTop closing its doors

09-07-treetopMedford, Ore., — A nationally known brand is closing its doors in one Oregon location.

TreeTop Fruit has nine production plants throughout California, Washington and Oregon.

Two of those plants in Woodburn and Medford.

The Woodburn location will be closing mid-January.

But the company says it won’t affect the facility here in the Rogue Valley.

“We have no plans whatsoever to do anything but continue on production like every week, doing great. Were not anticipating adding at this point, none of the production is shifting to the Medford plant.” said TreeTop spokeswoman Sharon Miracle.

The company says the Woodburn facility just isn’t running as
efficiently compared to the others, the equipment is on its last leg and they actually had to ship the fruit to the facility – an unnecessary added cost.

The 60 employees there are all getting special compensation packages until it closes, but Miracle says it will try keep as many as they can within the company.
