Ashland police ready for Halloween crowds

Ashland, Ore. — Local law enforcement is ready for tonight’s added foot traffic in Ashland, as trick-or-treaters hit the neighborhoods and adults enjoy downtown restaurants and bars.

Authorities say people flock to Ashland every year for a number of Halloween festivities.

Police have been out in force all day, making sure everyone has a fun and safe Halloween.

“We have quite large crowds that show up in Ashland on Halloween night and enjoy the downtown atmosphere, so we’re gearing up with additional police officers,” said Deputy Chief Warren Hensman.

Ashland police will be getting help from Medford police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Parole and Probation, and the OLCC.

This year, adults will get an extra hour out tonight, because of daylight saving time. Bars will be open an extra hour, when we turn the clock back from 2 am to 1 am.
