Out of control burn sparks Ashland fire

Ashland, Ore. — Fire crews from across the Rogue Valley responded to a three alarm fire in Ashland this afternoon, reported to be an out of control burn.

Over 15 engines responded to Highway 66 a near mile post four, just outside of Ashland. Ashland Fire, Medford Fire-Rescue, Fire District five, the Oregon Department of Forestry, and Oregon State Police were on scene.

No evacuations were put in place, however residents were made aware of the situation and some people voluntarily left their homes.

Fire officials believe it was sparked by a burn that grew to be out of control.

Crews will be on scene into the night to make sure it doesn’t flare up again.
