Medford, Ore., — Many area businesses are honored tonight at
a big awards dinner that celebrates people and business in Jackson county.
The Medford Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual “Excellence in Business” annual awards dinner, honoring those who have made a significant difference to the business community.
“This is the one night of the year that we stop and take time out to thank and acknowledge and recognize all that the business community does” said Chamber President, Brad Hicks.
There are 13 award winners:
First Citizen Award – Stephen Gambee, Rogue Disposal and Recycling, Inc.
Small Business Excellence – David Veach of D.J. Veach.
Medium Business Excellence – C.J. Shipley, insurance broker at Propel Insurance.
Large Business Excellence – John White, regional manager of western Oregon’s Boise Cascade
New Member Year – Kathleen McKinnis, In & Out Gardens
Retailer of the Year – Mike & Jodie Apland, Apland’s Auto Body
Outstanding Corp. Profit – Jennifer and Derek Davis, Founder & CEO/COO, SkyOak
Outstanding Corp. Non Profit – Dee Ann Everson & Charley Bolen, United Way Director and Board President
Rising Star Award – Ken Ogawa, American Family Insurance Agent
Chairperson Award – Doug Schmor, Partner at Brophy Schmor LLP, Attorney at Law
Special Service Recognition – Steve Young
Community Spirit Award – Ed and Jan Miller, Ed’s Point S Tire & Auto
Member Year – Tom Hall, S & B James Construction
