Hundreds show support at Relay for Life walk-a-thon

Medford, Ore. — Hundreds of people laced up their shoes in Medford today to help fight cancer. More than 800 people participated in Relay for Life at South Medford High School. The 24 hour walk-a-thon is the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser. It began this morning at seven and will end tomorrow morning at seven. Organizers say they will walk through the night because cancer doesn’t sleep.

“It shows our support. Having cancer is hard really hard and to show these people how much we love them and how much we support them, I think it’s important,” said Niki Cummings.

Before the relay even began they had raised 100,000 dollars.
