Today, children across the country put their best foot forward for International Walk to School Day…even local kids got in on the action.
The near freezing temperatures and frost developing this morning. didn’t stop at least 60 kids from walking to Jackson Elementary with a motorcade of police and fire trucks.
Fire inspector Samantha Metheny explains that they gets involved with because too many children lose their lives on bike or foot on their way to and from school.
Jackson Elementary’s walk started at the Santos Center and Mcloughlin Middle School.
