KlaCo Sheriff faces new year of budget problems

Klamath Falls, Ore. — The Klamath County Sheriff and Budget Committee are trying to bridge a $2-million budget gap.

Sheriff Frank Skrah says he needs a ‘zero growth budget’ from last year to avoid drastic cuts to the jail and patrols.

Tapping into road funds may be the only way to bridge that funding gap.

Road reserves have been used for the past 2 years to help fund patrols but the commissioners say that’s a temporary solution, and the money may have to be paid back.
