More layoffs coming to C&K Market stores

More layoffs and changes are coming to C&K Market, the parent company of Shop Smart and Rays Food Place, just months after the company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

This week the company announced they would be eliminating at least another 45 positions from their Brookings headquarters and Medford training center, which it opened last year.

In November the company announced the closure of 15 stores, laying off most of the employees in those locations.

Also this week, C.E.O. Greg Sandeno announced he will resign at the end of the month.

Sandeno however said he will assist the company through its bankruptcy process and will remain on for a few additional months in a consulting role as the company finalizes restructuring plans.
