Terrifying night for Grants Pass business owner

Grants Pass, Ore. — Terrifying moments for a Grants Pass business owner, after a close encounter with a brazen burglar.

The woman is using the experience as a lesson, to better protect herself and caution the public.

Grants Pass realtor and owner of Designed to Sell, Susan Tokarz-Krauss was wrapping up the day at her 7th street office when something terrifying happened,I was over here on the phone and I heard this bang, it was like this bang bang bang bang!

It was only 8 p.m., but alone and not expecting company, Tokarz-Krauss was terrified, someone was breaking in,”I didn’t have any weapons, what am I gonna do throw a candle at them I didn’t have wasp spray, I have wd40 and wall texture, I grabbed the only thing I really had”.

Armed with a broom, Tokarz-Krauss hid and called 911; the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety arrested 26-year-old Charles Lee Conway.

Hes no stranger to police and Conways now facing burglary charges and several other felonies unrelated to this case.

Now, Designed to Sell is boarded up but back open for business; shards of glass the only remnants of Tokarz-Krauss brush with a bold burglar and a night she will never forget.
