Curry County Tsunami Sirens Offline For Upgrades

Four of Curry County’s tsunami sirens are off line and will be until upgrades are made.

The sirens are meant to warn residents of tsunami’s triggered from distant earthquakes.

The sound would give residents about four to six hours to flee to higher grounds.

While officials work on finding a solution they also say most residents don’t rely on the sirens, instead they hear about warnings from the news or communication through friends.
