Our newsroom has been flooded with phone calls about smoke in the rogue river this afternoon. So, we sent a crew to check things out.
Officials tell us the smoke came from a large but controlled burn by the Bureau of Land Management.
We’ve actually had a number of controlled burns over the past several days.
Officials are burning fuel in preparation for fire season that begins in a few weeks.
