Cheer Competition Helps Hungry Families

Today 22 cheer teams came together to compete in the Third Annual Southern Oregon Cheer Classic…all while helping hungry families in our area.

Several hundred competitors cheered and danced it out at Eagle Point High School in hopes of qualifying for the state competition.

Event organizers say, for the first time, they teamed up with Access to raise donations and give back to the community.

“We knew there was a need for it and food was a little short during the holidays so it was something we wanted to be a part of. We’re also going to be doing a competition between our gym teams to see who can bring in the most food as well,” said Nikki Siemen, Director of Southern Oregon Cheer Classic.

Organizers say this year’s turnout was successful.
