House Bill Aims to Set up Secure State Retirement Plan

A new study finds small business owners near retirement age would be hit hard by recently proposed cuts to social security and Medicare.

The study was just release by Main Street Alliance of Oregon, and lawmakers are reacting.

House bill 3436 would create a state retirement savings investment board.

The board would take recommendations, and set up a state secure retirement plan specifically for small business owners.

So far, the bill has had two public hearings in the House.
