No ketchup allowed

Fort Myers, Fla. — (WBBH) A popular Fort Myers, Florida restaurant has taken ketchup off the menu.

Chef and owner Xavier Duclos says he simply won’t allow the condiment in his kitchen or dining room.

“The worst I had was a woman who pulled parmesan cheese and ketchup out of her bag, and I said ‘don’t do that,'” said Xavier Duclos. “She never came back.”

Born in New York City and raised in France, Duclos spent two years studying fine French cuisine.

He wants people to trust his cooking capabilities.”It’s a lifestyle,” he said. “It is traditions.”

Even though french fries and burgers make up a good chunk of his menu, it’s his way or the highway.
