Abill to change the Public Employees Retirement System, orPERS is moving up in the legislature.
On Wednesday, a subcommittee passed Senate Bill 822 with a vote of 6 to 3. The bill would reduce cost of living increases on public employee pensions, saving over 800 million dollars total.
This morning, it moves into the Joint Ways and Means Committee and could go through to the full senate as soon as tomorrow.
