Property Tax And Insurance Rates Could Raise In Curry County

Curry County residents could soon face higher property taxes or home insurance rate increases in order to keep their public safety system afloat.

Officials with the Curry County Sheriff’s Department say they’re in the same boat as Josephine County which rejected a tax measure, severely cutting their sheriff’s department last earlier this year.

In order to keep the departments running, residents would face a 60% home insurance hike or $2.91 property tax per$1,000assessed value.
