Local business is first to accept Bitcoin in Southern Oregon

Jacksonville, Ore. — A Jacksonville coffee shop is the first Caf in Oregon to accept the form of currency known as Bitcoins.

Stim Coffee officially started accepting the digital money over the weekend.

Customers make transactions with an app on their smart phone or computer to pay for their order.

It’s something owner James Collins says is catching on quickly.

One of the benefits for businesses that use Bitcoins: they carry lower transaction rates compared to debit or credit cards.
