Five army soldiers are reportedly under investigation on allegations they smuggled a rocket launcher off joint base Lewis-Mcchord in Washington state.
According to Seattle TV station KING 5, two law enforcement sources say the launcher was taken off the base sometime last year.
Authorities were alerted to it when a girlfriend of one of the soldiers found it in a closet and called police.
It did contain a live rocket, but investigators say they don’t believe the soldiers planned to use it.
The soldiers may be charged with possession of a military-grade weapon.
