Bill Proposes Changes to Measure 11

Lawmakers in Salem are looking at a bill that would change Oregon’s mandatory minimum sentencing laws.

The bill would make changes to Measure 11, removing mandatory minimum sentences for people convicted of sex abuse, assault, and robbery crimes.

Changing Measure 11 would require a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate.

A public hearing for the bill is scheduled for Friday.
