A new restaurant in Ashland is serving up a big plate of controversy.
On the menu: Mongolian beef, chicken wings, even cheesecake, all cooked with medical marijuana.
One order of Mongolian beef coming up, made with medical marijuana but the only customers allowed in here must have a valid medical marijuana card and a valid i.D.
“Right here you can pick what dose of medicine you want. Either no medicine, level one, two, or three.” says Kevin Wallace, Co-Owner of Earth and Dragons.
Medical marijuana grower, Kevin Wallace, will open this new restaurant Friday.
It’s one of the first sit down eateries to offer hot food cooked with canibas. “We have chili, lasaguna, spaghetti, hot wings.” says Wallace.
Other items for sale include caramels, lollypops, cheesecake, even jam mixed with cannabis. Wallace says it’s a new healthier way for card holders to get their medicine. “Not everybody knows how to put it in food.”
Under Oregon law, you can’t legally charge for medical marijuana. That’s why customers coming here will only pay for the price of the food, the marijuana is thrown in for free.
“Everything whether it is medicated or not the bowl is still just eight dollars.”
He’s doing this because he had patients who didn’t want to smoke nor did they want the stigma of closet usage.
They’re a non profit as well.
