Crews were on scene for hours mopping up a grass fire in Eagle Point. Saturday night they bulldozed and worked to put a wetline around the fire.
It broke out around 1:30 Saturday afternoon and burned roughly 100-acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property.
While no homes were immediately threatened, Brian Ballou with the Oregon Department of Forestry said wind conditions helped keep the fire from spreading further.
Initially, roughly 30 fire fighters, a helicopter, six engines, two water tenders and two bulldozers were called in from area fire departments.
Officials did not believe the fire would grow much larger Saturday evening.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
