Around 4:24 A.M. Friday Grants Pass Department of Public Safety and Fire Rescue arrived on scene of an apartment fire at the corner of NE A. Street and NE. 8th Street.
When officers arrived on scene they found an adult male unconscious at the stop of a stairwell.
Officer John Lohrfink, a 4-year veteran, ran to the top of a stair case and rescued the disabled male. He received burns to his face and hands.
Both the male and the officer, as well as a female and her young child were transported to Rogue River Community Hospital. Their injuries are unknown.
Neighbors tell us they have been concerned about the resident’s safety for months.
