K-12 Oregon Student Enrollment Increases

For the first time in five years, there is growth in student enrollment statewide. Oregon’s K-12 student enrollment increased by over 27-hundred students over the 2011-2012 enrollment period, bringing the number enrolled to over 560 thousand.

Here in Medford, the district has seen a 3.6 percent increase.

With overall, state-wide enrollment,growing by less than 2 percent in the last decade, the increase is unprecidented.

Diversity is also increasing, with 35% of students in Oregon now being students of color as well as an increased need for English language and disability services.

Officials are committed to valuing each students as individuasl with great potential and will be working to make sure every learner has a meaningful and successful school experience.
