Klamath Falls Death Investigation

A death investigation is now underway in a Klamath Falls neighborhood…But police aren’t releasing any details.

It’s believed that a dead body was found in this home on Lindley Way late Tuesday afternoon.

Police stayed on scene overnight, but they’re not releasing any information.

Neighbor Stern Skeen offered a clue as to the person’s possible identity…

“His name’s Wayne. Clark, I think. That’s about all I know.”

The Klamath County Major Crime Team has been activated, and the home was processed this afternoon by forensics specialists from the Oregon State Police.

If the man IS Wayne Clark, investigators aren’t saying yet how he may have died…and neighbors are providing few clues.

“He was a decent guy.” Notes Stern Skeen. “I fed his fish, stuff like that – but we didn’t know each other personal.”

“Yeah, I knew him quite a bit.” Says neighbor Sonia Foster. “The kids knew him. Wayne retired, what, four or five years ago from the railroad.”

The situation is complicated by the fact that Klamath County is now without a district attorney…And police aren’t allowed to talk with the media about the incident.

The case is being handled through the Oregon Attorney General’s Office, and they haven’t released any information. That has some people wondering if there’s a killer on the loose in their neighborhood, or not.

A Major Crime Team activation allows for the resources of all police agencies in Klamath Falls, including the Oregon State Police, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, and the Klamath Falls Police Department.
