A former State Representative is now the lead prosecutor for Klamath County.
Rob Patridge was sworn in as Klamath County District Attorney this morning.
Patridge says budget issues will be his first priority…
“We’re facing potentially a loss of two deputy district attorneys, which would mean we really wouldn’t have enough attorneys to even cover the amount of judges here in Klamath County.”
Patridge says his second priority is getting to know his staff, and those he’ll be working with, such as Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah…
“He came over to the house, and we sat down, and had a cup of coffee, and chatted for a good hour, anyway – very good.” Noted Skrah. “It speaks a lot for the man when he reaches out to everybody in law enforcement.”
For now, Patridge says he plans to commute from his home in Medford…
“My kids have to finish out school, and I’m going to let them finish out school there in Jackson County. We’re just going to take this all day by day.”
And for the first time in over four months, Klamath County has a District Attorney.
Patridge was appointed to the position on Friday by Governor Kitzhaber, to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of former D.A. Ed Caleb, who stepped down at the start of the year due to health concerns.
